DAUGHTER OF THE SUN: The Latvia Project

DAUGHTER OF THE SUN: The Latvia Project is a piece exploring personal mythology and national identity.  In writing her own origin story a woman weighs mythology against history in a battle for what is her own truth. After learning that all sides of her family resided in Latvia before immigrating to the United States, with no records surviving of their time there, she finds that the whole notion of “identity” takes on a mythology all its own, one requiring a strong element of detective work.
